Default frost gate carto question

ok, i know rurik will walk a lot, and never give you much of a chance to do other stuff
is there an easy way to explore for carto here, as i still need the most south part

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Frost_Gate

that map doesnt even show it completely, but its a bit more south
is there a part where rurik wont continue the mission? been a while since i did it
if rurik stops moving, i can carto without him going on or dying

i wanted to get the last parts sooner, but had other things in life

thanks in advance

It doesn't matter if Rurik dies. The mission erroneously doesn't fail, so you can ignore his actions entirely. Mapping can be done solely at your own convenience.

The mission ends when you open the three locks with the gate device thing. You might need to unlock one to open up those areas at the bottom, but as long as you don't open the third lock you have as much time as you need. Rurik is literally meaningless through the entire mission.

ok, update question about the same mission to explore (cartographer)
i hve opened the left door and the right door at the lever mechanisms, but does the middle lever mechanism open another door, because i cant find another door (am i not looking well or is there no door i can reach with that lever?)

is that middle one just for rurik or something?

Afaik it doesn't matter which locks you open; the doors will open according to the number you've unlocked rather than any specific lock. Most of the additional exploration area is accessible through the east gate. If you've opened two locks but haven't mapped everything it's because you've missed something.

well, i did get 0.1% from spots before that part, but yesterday i opened 2 doors, and each lever i used, opened a door nearby, so the left lever opened the left door, the right one opened the right door

i'll check it out to be sure today, cuz i saw no door near the middle lever
or are there only 2 doors (was tired yesterday, maybe i missed 1)?

Hey Ayuhmii,
In case you are still having trouble, here's a vid of of when I ran through the mission and map cleared not too long ago. Don't remember the details exactly, otherwise I'd put a synopsis here as well:
